THE CHURCH…..A PLACE FOR THE SICK?

June 7, 2011

Sometimes when I hear people talk about the church and how it functions it seems like on some levels it has become a hospital that might ask you to leave if you show symptoms of sickness.

that can’t be what Jesus had in mind……..

mmmm…..I feel better now that I got that out

I like what Nate said….I think many of the people who have a problem with the “sickness” are blind to their own…Jesus said something to the Pharisees like “because you say “We see” your sin remains” John 5,9, or 12? Oftentimes when people respond “you’re preaching to the Choir Sean” my response is, “the choir needs it the most”. Good word…I think the part we can improve on is seeing more people who enter sick begin to be made well and in turn become physicians operating under the Physician’s authority.

    Good word bro, good word.
I love that Jesus implied he is like a dr. and welcomes the sick. Many believe the hospital should be free of sickness and are surprised to find out that there are actually sick, hurting, wounded, and dying people in the “hospital”, and many times all that care and chaos does not run smoothly.
Thank God for sick people coming to the Dr.! Jesus!
I pray Compelled will always be a place for the hurting, and imperfect, and that the imperfection of the church will be seen as a reality for a hospital, and not something that can be criticized.
